International Independent Film Awards

Another award this month. We are excited to announce that we have been selected for a Platinum Award for Narrative Shorts at Winter 2018 Session for the International Independent Film Awards Festival.

Congratulations to everyone!!! This is more acknowledgement of everyone's hard work on this project. While we did not make the screening level, it is more recognition for this film.

About the Festival:

The International Independent Film Awards is dedicated to showcasing and celebrating the many talented independent filmmakers and artists from around the world who share their visions in a powerful, creative and entertaining way.

In the Field won an Award of Excellence: Film Short from the Best Shorts Competition. We are honored to be recognized from a very prestigious organization!

About the Competition:

The Best Shorts Competition is unique in the industry.  Attracting both powerhouse companies as well as talented new filmmakers, The Best Shorts is an exceptional, truly international awards competition, not a traditional film festival – which allows filmmakers from around the world to enter their films in this prestigious competition.

In the Field Makes Its First Festival

In the Field made its first film festival, along with making its world premiere, at the Short Film Competition for the Black Women Film Network at Atlanta Metropolitan College in Atlanta, GA on March 10th.

We were up for 7 awards in the competition and were honored to win two. Our cinematographer Brian McCann received Best Cinematography and our editor Erlingur Thoroddsen received the Best Editing awards respectively.

About the Festival:

Established in 1997, the Black Women Film Network (BWFN) was founded to prepare black women to enter the film and television industries. The organization seeks to preserve the voice of these women through film and educational programs that empower and inform.
